CeeJay's Pick of the Month (June) - Jason Chan 無限大, Phil Lam 一世同學

Hello everyone!

We're back with this month's new songs that we thought stood out. They came from Jason Chan and Phil Lam. 

We will talk about Jason's song first as it came out earlier in time for Father's Day. 

We liked the easy going guitar on this song that he wrote for his baby daughter. It's got a light tune to it but the meaning is great. We've been listening to Jason for a long time and his voice is always easy to listen to and light on the ears. Reading the description, the title of this song is because his daughter is a 無限大 (infinitely large) part of his life now. When we heard the song, we thought it would be about the world being 無限大 and he will protect and teach her about the world. The lyrics basically talk about what he hopes to experience with her, like holding hands to school, riding a tricycle, etc. All very sweet moments! The MV is beautiful and shows off Hong Kong beautifully as well. Hopefully when her daughter hears this and can understand it, she will feel the love!

The second song for this month is from Phil about graduation which is also very timely since it is graduation season now in June. We thought this was a great song because of the lyrics and meaning behind the song that we don't get to see often. 

The MV is very nostalgic as well. The textbooks shown at the beginning section remind us of what we read. Along with the Scantron multiple choice sheet, chemistry elements, and math equations it transported us back to our old school days. We also doodled over our old work and would share these funny drawings with our friends! Phil and his team were really able to capture this feeling for us. 

The lyrics are bittersweet saying how no matter how old we grow, life keeps throwing curves at you and it's still hard but we can get through them together. We knew how to crawl (climb) when we were born, and we don't stop crawling/climbing over obstacles. Through school, we are faced with small challenges that build up and prepare us for the big ones in life. It also touches on how hard it is to reunite with your old friends. We hope you guys enjoy this song as much as we did.
